Solar panels are tied into the grid with a net meter, so whatever they produce runs the meter backwards. The first six panels were installed about a year ago, then three more in the spring. With this number of panels they should have enough capacity to produce about 300 kWh per month averaged over the year, which can provide all the electricity the house needs, depending on how much the supplemental electric heaters, etc, are used. Over the last few months owners only paid the monthly service fee to Mountain Parks and haven't had to pay for any electricity. Owner should also have a credit of kWh built up from the summer that can be used into the winter!
